Privacy Policy
Iqamah — Prayer Times · Effective 2026-05-01
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Iqamah does not collect, use, or transmit:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, device ID)
- Location data to any server or third party
- Usage data, analytics, or crash reports
- Advertising identifiers
- Any data whatsoever to any external server
2. Location Data
Iqamah requests permission to access your device's location only to identify the nearest city and calculate accurate Islamic prayer times — entirely on-device.
- Your location coordinates are never sent off the device
- Location data is used in memory at runtime only — no history stored
- If you deny location permission, select your city manually from the built-in list
3. Data Stored on Your Device
Iqamah saves the following locally using Apple's UserDefaults (stays on your Mac, never
transmitted):
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Selected city name and coordinates | Calculate prayer times |
| Selected calculation method | Determine Fajr and Isha angles |
| Selected Asr jurisprudence | Determine Asr shadow factor |
| Per-prayer minute adjustments | Show preferred adjusted times |
| Setup completion flag | Skip onboarding on re-launch |
This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
4. Third-Party Services
Iqamah does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, crash reporters, or cloud services. There are no network requests of any kind.
5. Children's Privacy
Iqamah does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
6. Data Security
Because Iqamah collects no data and makes no network connections, there is no data
transmission to secure. All settings are stored in Apple's standard sandboxed UserDefaults.
7. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
